All services rendered are invoiced by iamindependent, inc.. The client is a customer of iamindependent, inc., not the consulting engineer directly.
The consulting engineer and client retain the freedom to negotiate the rate at which iamindependent, inc. will invoice the client for services. This inherent flexibility allows us to meet the unique needs of each client.
The above model affords both the client and consulting engineer many advantages and protections over a traditional 1099 contractor/client relationship.
This may sound confusing at first, but the bottom line is that doing business this way legitimizes the client customer relationship so that all parties have proper professional and tax liability protection.
